Welcome

The Vulpine Spitz Project is a breeding project by Cyril Cherniak.

The goal is to breed a healthy, stable, versatile, small, Spitz type companion dog for the average pet owner. The ideal dog looks very foxy or coyote-like. They will have upright ears and dense, soft fur that is plush or moderately feathered, a long snout with a slight stop, and a narrow muzzle. Build is moderately balanced, light to medium in bone, and athletic. The ideal size is 15-25 lbs.

The ideal temperament is a friendly, handler-oriented, trainable, moderately active dog that is willing to have lazy days. Simply put, an easy pet that doesn't need to be worked to settle. Mental stability, ease of socialization, and a "bombproof" demeanor are top goals that come before physical type.

Personality-wise, the goal is to retain the spitz personality and zest for life, but with added biddability.
